September Might Be Tahoe’s Most Underrated Month
Why is September such a great time to be in Tahoe?
September is what we call “locals’ summer.” The days are still warm, most of our favorite summer activities are still available, but the crowds have thinned. The lake is quieter, the trails are less traveled, and Tahoe seems to slow down after a busy summer.
July and August are what I think of as the power weeks of summer in Tahoe. There is always something to do, somewhere to go, and someone to see.
There is free music playing somewhere multiple nights of the week, festivals and sporting events fill the weekends, and the lake, trails, restaurants, and bike paths are all buzzing. Of course, many of those summer visitors are our own family and…
